This seminar is intended to acquire strategies and to further develop the skills required for successfully completing (long-term) research projects – the central project being the Master-Thesis.

Firstly, we will address strategies that involve the organization of research from coming up with research questions to developing a concise thesis and designing an appropriate methodological frame-work, corpus and body of research.

Secondly, we will discuss strategies of effectively presenting and pitching ones research in formats such as CVs, application letters, and public presentation – including a focus on presentation skills.

Thirdly, the seminar will address psycho-social dimensions of research-projects such as writer’s block, procrastination, integrating feedback, etc.

Fourthly, student will be introduced to key-texts that will either inform their respective research or introduce them to current research-theories and -methodologies.
