Grammatical accuracy is one of the basic requirements for any professional translation. This course is designed to enhance students’ grammatical awareness and to enable them to systematically proofread their own text productions.

Tenses; conditionals; relative clauses; nouns and noun phrases; determiners; adjectives; comparison; adverbs; verb patterns; prepositions; word order and sentence structure.

Mini-lectures given by the course leader; practice activities.

Classroom activities will be supplemented by several hours of guided self-study per week.

Regular assignments; mid-term-test and end-of-term test.

All materials and assignments will be available on OLAT.

Successful completion of the placement test (or proof of exemption from it).

Students must not miss more than two classes per term.
