This is an introductory course on security and forensics analysis of multimedia data. Student who complete the course acquire knowledge of security issues and protections goals related to images, videos, audio traces. They will learn and understand how signal processing and machine learning techniques can be used to enforce these protection goals, with special focus on passive authentication of digital images.

Prior knowledge on multimedia processing and information security is helpful but not required. Familiarity with probability theory, linear algebra, and calculus will be beneficial.

As part of a regional mobility program supported by the EUREGIO Tirol South Tirol Trentino, the course will be held in collaboration with the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento.

Joint activities will include guest lectures and a field trip to Trento in January. More details will be given at the beginning of the course.
