Attending this course will allow students to understand the morphology and the main emission processes of the Active Galactic Nuclei.

The course gives an overview of the following topics: AGN Zoology and classification, the continuum emission, properties of Broad Lines and Narrow Lines regions, unified models of AGN, the radio-loud AGN: Blazars and Radio galaxies, the enviroment of AGN

Lecture and related methods

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Will be introduced during the course

classical mechanics and electrodynamics, basic concepts of astronomy, Special Relativity
