- die Ökologie der Waldgrenze,
- Neophyten als Naturschutzproblem und deren Management
Geographie, Geologie und Klima der Alpen: Evolution, Systematik und Biogeographie alpiner Artengruppen; klima- bzw. anthropogen induzierte Vegetationsveränderungen im Eiszeitalter und Holozän; Einfluss von Umweltfaktoren auf das Baumwachstum an Wald-Grenzstandorten.
