743703 VO Wasser- und Sedimentmanagement in Bergeinzugsgebieten
Wintersemester 2020/2021 | Stand: 31.05.2021 | LV auf Merkliste setzenBasic knowledge of river hydraulics and sediment transport processes, with specific focus on mountain channels; overview and understanding of the complex process causalities relative to both flood events and ordinary flows capability to evaluate different management options relative to sediment fluxes; overview an classical hydropower systems and hydrological planning aspects.
Basics in open channel hydraulics; theoretical basics for 1D-hydrodynamic numerical modelling by HEC-RAS software; typical schemes and components of hydropower systems; classical intake structures in mountain catchments; hydrological aspects on the design of hydropower systems; basics of sediment transport in rivers; suspended and bed-load transport mechanics; sediment budgeting; sediment management issues relative to flood mitigation and to hydropower production; visit of the hydraulic engineering laboratory of the University of Innsbruck.
Compulsory attendance
