The students gain basic understanding and knowledge of the structure, synthesis, stability and molecular interactions of drugs
Analytics
· Introduction to analytical techniques commonly used in pharmaceutical sciences; theoretical background of TLC, HPLC, SFC, GC, CE and MS, instrumental setup, applicability and typical applications, pros and cons.
Chemistry:
· Correlation molecular structure and physicochemical properties: acid + base, pKa of drugs, solubility, polar/apolar
· non-covalent interactions/ drug-target interactions
· stereochemistry
· stability: hydrolysis, oxidation, shelf-life
· examples for synthesis
